Mount Forest, ON…North Wellington Health Care officially received approval from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) to move ahead with the final stage of planning for the emergency and ambulatory care expansion at the Louise Marshall Hospital (LMH) site in Mount Forest.
“LMH staff, physicians, volunteers, and consultants, who worked on the Stage 3 floor plan submission, have been eagerly awaiting the MOHLTC approval to continue on in the five-step capital planning process.” states Stephen Street, President and CEO, NWHC. “Working with our planning teams and Board, we will immediately turn our attention to complete the stage 4 planning requirements.”
“Stage 4, Working Drawings and Specifications, involves developing contracts, finalizing construction-ready plans, completing and issuing tender documentation, and ultimately, awarding construction contracts. After approval of Stage 4 we will issue the tender, evaluate and award a contract, and start building.” explains Street.
The LMH emergency and ambulatory care expansion will improve patient access and quality of care for our residents. The expansion will improve infection prevention and control, patient privacy, accessibility and operational efficiencies.
